I’ve been trying out a new reading style: enjoying flicking to pages that grab my attention. Great fun and relevant pages always come up! Particularly great for my current reading of “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle, who writes of what we project on ourselves: pain, negativity, and cynism; and how it is often caused by living too much in the future (and not being present in the now).

I’ve reflected on this as so much of my life is focused on the future: thinking ahead to plan, strategise, see opportunities, risks, etc. I have this ‘forecasting’ mindset in my daily life (not just work) and it creates a busy mind…

Recent daily meditation practice has afforded me calm, peace and greater compassion to others (a life-long goal).

I wonder if the meditation gives me more access to being in the now.

Being peacefully be in life, not feel as rushed or affected by others’ words (they become less impactful on me) and, at the nub of it, giving me more moments of presence.
