I’ve recommended my Bali blogpost to many people so here’s a short Hakuba list of tips & maps for a similar purpose.

Getting there:

Great to have door-to-door minibus (Chuo Taxi) from Tokyo Narita airport to save changing trains with ski bag.

Hakuba tips:

Skiing all 5 mountains – Hakuba 47, Happo One, Iwatake, Tsugaike & Cortina was fabulous. Loved the massive terrain of Tsugaike and would love to return to Cortina and any of the mountains – especially for back country. Surely there’s loads more to see.

Restaurant highlights were two lovely Japanese eateries in Echo Land (Isakaya Hie & Sarugaku), Hummingbird in Wadano and Hakuba Tokyu Hotel Bar in Wadano ~ sitting by the window and watching snowflakes fall.

Have your accommodation reserve a spot for you for dinner to make things easier.

Happy times!
